Brides Confess Their Biggest Wedding Day Blunders

Biggest Wedding Mistakes

bride-894871_960_720ENDLESS hours of planning, meticulous attention to detail and thousands of pounds blown out on one spectacular day. Of course, it’s the wedding day.

So the last thing you want is regrets.

It’s a mammoth task and there are a million and one things to think about, so it’s not surprising if you miss something out.

That’s why it’s a bright idea to learn from the mistakes of others.

In a recent post-wedding survey in Bride and Groom Magazine some staggering results were given. They didn’t shock me – but I think they may well raise your eyebrow.

I know, first hand, the importance of entertainment on a wedding day. I’ve seen more weddings than most and understand its value.

So, brace yourself, here are the facts:

  • 72% of brides said they would have spent more time choosing their reception entertainment_Acton_Wedding_723Luca

When it comes to entertainment, most people book in a DJ or a band for the evening, then consider it job done. What they forget is the reception during the day.

The period between the ceremony and evening meal is a natural lull in the schedule of the day. The bride and groom are off having photographs and the guests are standing around waiting for the next part of the day. This is a prime time for some mix and mingle magic around the bar and is the most popular booking option.

It’s an important period of time to fill and most brides agree they didn’t succeed in doing so.

  • Almost 100% of brides said they would have spent more of their budget on entertainment

And, according to these findings, you’re probably not prioritising it optimally.

Clearly, entertainment is important, but most realise that too late.

  • 78% of all brides said they would have made entertainment their highest priority

A staggering figure, considering how far down the pecking order entertainment is often placed.

Make sure you’re giving the entertainment enough attention – you might be neglecting it!

  • 81% of guests said the thing they remembered most about a reception was the entertainment

And, particularly magic. Witnessing the impossible is something that isn’t forgotten.

I can’t tell you how many people bump into me years after we first met, only to tell me they still have “that card that appeared in your phone”, or “that fork that you bent”. And that’s why I love magic!

The result: a wedding day which your guests are talking about for years.

So there you have it. Some eye-opening statistics.

I want you to have the most perfect wedding day – the one you’ve always dreamed of. And everything I do, from the moment you contact me to the wedding day, is geared towards helping that happen. Even if I only play a small part.
